Three cheers for a local success!
A leading Indian restaurant in Birmingham welcomed some very special guests to its third birthday party this week. They joined Jabbar Khan at Lasan Restaurant, just off St Paul's Square, to congratulate him and his staff on completing a third successful year.

Karan Bilimoria, the high profile Chief Executive of Cobra Beer gave an inspiring account of his growth from “an import/export wallah” to a highly successful businessman responsible for a major fast growing beer brand sold in the UK and 30 countries worldwide. He stressed that there was no longer a “glass ceiling” for Asian entrepreneurs, emphasising the key importance of people and of innovation – key factors in Lasan's success. He congratulated Jabbar Khan on his recent entrepreneurial achievement as the first ever Institute of Directors Young Director of the Year Award: “I am proud of Jabbar for his contribution to the catering industry and to Birmingham ,” he said.
Farah Damji, the controversial journalist and editor of Another Generation Magazine, also addressed the guests, speaking positively of the multi-cultural nature of society in Birmingham .
“It was a very special evening,” said Jabbar Khan. “I wanted to thank our customers and others who had helped and inspired our success at Lasan.”
